about

Spring dawns and the snowdrops bloom at Imbolc or Candlemas, 2 February. It's the feast of Bridhe, saint and goddess, in whose honour this traditional Irish Gaelic song was created.
She was once honoured, as the song says, "not just in Ireland, but in many countries ... a shining lantern, a flame throughout the land ... winter is hard and dark, but once Brigid's day comes, spring cannot be far behind".

Learned from the singing of Noirin ni Riain
